Glaucoma is a group of eye conditions that damage the optic nerve, which is vital for good vision. This damage is often caused by an abnormally high pressure in your eye. Glaucoma is one of the leading causes of blindness for people over the age of 60.

Because it shows no early symptoms and progresses gradually, it is often called the "silent thief of sight." Early detection and treatment can slow or prevent vision loss.

Comprehensive Screening

We recommend annual screenings for anyone over 40 years, or earlier for individuals with a family history of Glaucoma:

• Applanation Tonometry: High-precision eye pressure measurement.
• Humphrey Visual Field (HVF) Analysis: Maps your peripheral vision to detect early visual field losses.
• Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT-RNFL): Measures the thickness of the optic nerve fiber layer.
• Gonioscopy: Examines the drainage angle of the eye to classify Open-angle or Angle-closure Glaucoma.

Treatment Modalities

• Medicated Eye Drops: To reduce fluid production or improve drainage.
• Laser Trabeculoplasty / Laser Iridotomy: Outpatient laser procedures to relieve eye pressure.
• Trabeculectomy Surgery: Surgical creation of a new drainage pathway, performed by our expert glaucoma surgeons.
